The song is a satire of Do They Know It's Christmas? and is performed by a huge cast of alt/indie artists (including Win Butler & Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire, Beck, Feist, J'aime Tambeur of Islands, Peaches, Dntel, Jenny Lewis, Devendra Banhart, and Karen O), under the moniker North American Hallowe'en Prevention Initiative (NAHPI). And like the song that inspired it, all proceeds from the song are donated to charity (in this case, UNICEF: The United Nations Children's Fund).
