While it lacks some of the gritty distortion of the previous two albums, I appreciate the new direction and risk of trying something new. I'm really digging the track Mickey Mouse as of late. It has just enough of Wavve's signature lo-fi sound, but with a drum machine and lyrics you can actually understand (for the most part).

Next up, the experimental Brooklynites, Yeasayer.
Yeasayer is another band that had a huge year, primarily due to the universally adored Ambling Alp and O.N.E., as well as creepy, yet emotional, video for Madder Red. Now don't get me wrong, I too am a fan of those tracks, but I wanted to show some love to another favorite of mine, that tends to be overlooked. Without further ado, the track the band describes as a "four-and-a-half-minute-long mixtape love ballad", I Remember.
